Explosion occurs in Rivne, 2 people are injured: SSU classifies incident as terrorist attack

Around 13:40 on 20 March, an explosion occurred in the centre of Rivne, injuring 2 people.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
"It has been preliminarily established that an improvised explosive device (IED) transported in a car exploded near one of the city's shopping malls. The explosion in the car occurred today, 20 March, at around 1:40 p.m. on Kyivska Street. The driver and a passenger were injured in the explosion and hospitalised," the statement said.
Police explosive experts examined the area. An investigative team was working at the scene.
Complex measures are underway to establish all the circumstances of the explosion and the persons involved.
The press service of the SSU in Rivne region writes that the explosion in the center of Rivne on March 20 is classified as an attempted terrorist attack and that criminal proceedings have already been opened.
