Lammy: Putin cannot veto deployment of peacekeeping forces to Ukraine

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy has said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin cannot veto the potential deployment of European peacekeepers to Ukraine if an agreement to end the war is reached.
According to Censor.NET, Lammy's statement was quoted by Sky News.
Lammy noted that Putin should accept the proposal for a ceasefire in the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.
"It's a plan that's on the table, let's get to it, what are we waiting for? What we definitely cannot do is give Putin a veto over the security architecture that will govern this peace," the British Foreign Secretary said.
Putin rejects the possibility of deploying troops from NATO or Western countries in Ukraine as part of any peace agreement.
"And, of course, that means there has to be a role for those of us in Europe and beyond who want to ensure that Ukraine is able to defend itself and ensure that, as we saw in 2014, Putin cannot come back for more in a few years' time," Lammy added.
Earlier, it was reported that the UK could send 10,000 troops to Ukraine.
On Saturday, March 15, an online meeting of the "coalition of the willing" took place. Following the meeting, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the military leaders of a number of countries plan to meet in the UK on March 20 to discuss support for Ukraine's future security.
