Lithuania ready to send troops to Ukraine - Nauseda

Nauseda announced possibility of sending troops to Ukraine

Lithuania is ready to send troops to Ukraine as part of a mission after the ceasefire.

According to Censor.NET, this was stated by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda in an interview with Bloomberg Television.

"My country is ready to provide the necessary support. We are talking about a very specific number of our military, but all countries in this coalition must commit to providing such support," Nauseda said.

He added that U.S. President Donald Trump had "frank intentions" to end Russia's war against Ukraine, but Vladimir Putin "imitated" the talks while continuing to attack Ukrainian territory.

Nausėda noted that Lithuania is one of Kyiv's most active allies and considers its security directly dependent on the outcome of the war. It shares a common border with Russia. Vilnius has increased defense spending to deter potential aggression.

As a reminder, the deployment of British fighter jets to Ukraine was discussed at a meeting at the Permanent Joint Staff of the United Kingdom on Thursday, March 20.
