EU may allocate up to €9 billion for Ukraine’s military needs in 2025 – media

In 2025, Ukraine may receive up to €9 billion in military aid under the G7 ERA initiative, which is funded by proceeds from frozen Russian assets.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the EP material.
These funds can be provided under the G7 ERA credit mechanism, which is financed from the taxed profits of frozen Russian assets.
On March 20, the EU summit reportedly considered options for financing Ukraine's defense needs, including a mechanism that provides for the allocation of €18.1 billion in loans guaranteed by the proceeds of Russian assets. Half of this amount, i.e., up to €9 billion, can be used for military purposes.
However, it is not yet known what exactly the Ukrainian government plans to do with these funds. Negotiations are ongoing.
