Defense forces are successfully counterattacking in Toretsk, Donetsk region.
This was reported on television by the spokesman for the operational and strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia" Viktor Trehubov, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"Yes, everything you said (counterattacks by the Defense Forces in Toretsk - Ed.) is true. The Russians are just tired of trying to take the city, despite the fact that officially, according to the statement of their Ministry of Defense, it has been taken for almost 2 months. In fact, they have not succeeded and will not succeed, most likely, in establishing control, so they are trying to go around the city from the sides," Trehubov said.
He assured that Ukrainian troops are currently acting quite effectively in the Toretsk sector.
Answering the question about the current situation in the area of Chasiv Yar, the spokesman informed that since they have not been able to take the town for months, the Russians are trying to actively bypass it from the north.
"But there they are being destroyed in the field, because the 24th Brigade is acting effectively, and Ukrainian defenders are acting effectively there. The Russians are actively using armored vehicles there, among other things. This is one of the areas where they have begun to use it in fairly large quantities, but it is also being destroyed in large quantities," Trehubov noted.
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the enemy's concentration area in Toretsk was hit, and the location of the enemy forces was completely destroyed. It was also noted that the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed the control center of the Russian border outpost in the Belgorod region.
