"Old" Canada-US relationship is over, - Canadian PM

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced a conversation with US President Donald Trump.

Thus, the head of government noted that due to the tariffs imposed by Trump, Canada will have to revise its economic model and look for reliable trading partners.
"The old relationship we had with the United States, based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military co-operations, is over. The time will come for a broad renegotiation of our security and trade relationship," Carney said.
According to him, Canada will also have to revise many approaches to the economy and supply chains for critical industries, including the automotive sector, to protect itself from further tariffs and possible unfriendly actions by the United States.
"We will fight back with everything we have to get the best deal for Canada. We will build an independent future for our country," the Prime Minister said.
Carney also announced a conversation with Trump in the coming days.
