Russian occupation forces are preparing to launch a new offensive. Their units have been training for over a month.

This was stated by the commander of the 1st assault battalion of the Third Assault Brigade, Volodymyr Fokin, on the air of Novyny Live, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, the brigade's soldiers are doing everything possible to prepare for "a bigger offensive by the Russians".

"We are improving the engineering equipment of our positions and preparing intermediate positions. Accordingly, we continue to train our personnel, as far as possible, and other teams of our forces and means," Fokin explained.

"The Russian Federation is preparing an offensive for April. There are units that are now in the rear areas. In our direction, it is approximately 2-3 divisions. They have reserves, they are adequately manned and have been at training grounds for more than a month now, preparing for their future actions," he said.

Andrii Kovalenko, head of the CCD, also stated: "russia is preparing reserves for another attempt to make a breakthrough on the front in May".

At the end of March 2025, The Associated Press reported that Russian troops were preparing to launch a new military offensive in the coming weeks to maximise pressure on Ukraine and strengthen the Kremlin's negotiating position in ceasefire talks.
