Ukraine’s path to NATO is irreversible. This decision remains valid, - Alliance representative

A representative of the North Atlantic Alliance assures that there have been no changes in NATO's policy on Ukraine's future membership.
He said this in a conversation with journalists in Brussels, Censor.NET reports citing the European Parliament.
The representative of the Alliance spoke on condition of anonymity, however, representing the official position of the organization.
According to the official, despite recent statements by the U.S. leadership, NATO does not believe that its position on Ukraine's membership has changed.
"Nothing has changed in our relations. Our relations continue to be strong, we have strong political ties and practical cooperation in many areas," the Alliance emphasized.
In addition, according to the representative, there have been no changes in the previously adopted policy towards Ukraine.
"Allies said at the summit in Washington that Ukraine's path to NATO is irreversible. This decision remains valid, it remains a common NATO policy. For us, Ukraine's right to choose its alliances and determine its foreign policy path is as important now as it has always been," the Alliance's secretariat said.
They also emphasized that the principled position on the right of a state to choose the level of aspirations in relations with NATO is valid not only for Ukraine but for all states, as it is part of the foundations of world politics.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Ukraine's accession to NATO is not considered part of a peace agreement with Russia.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO has never been part of the minerals deal with the United States.
