Ukrainians "must accept" and cede territories to Russia, says Congresswoman Spartz

Ukrainian-born Republican Congresswoman Victoria Spartz said that Ukrainians "must accept" the transfer of their territories to Russia and demand the resignation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

She said this in an interview with The Telegraph, Censor.NET reports.

"I just don't understand how [Ukraine] can position itself to demand the retention of territories. If they were winning the war, it would be a completely different matter," Spartz said.

In addition, the congresswoman supports US President Donald Trump's decision to negotiate with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, saying that "there are no easy decisions."

"As I said two years ago, it's better to win wars as quickly as you can. Delay usually does not end well for democracy," she said.

The Telegraph writes that Spartz's contempt for former US President Joe Biden is "only matched by the contempt she has for the president of Ukraine."

The publication recalls that after a quarrel between Zelenskyy and Trump in the Oval Office, the congresswoman accused the Ukrainian president of allegedly doing a "disservice to the Ukrainian people" and "insulting the American president."

She also called on the Ukrainian people to vote against President Zelenskyy in order to "achieve a lasting peace."

"They will have elections, and if they elect him, they will lose the rest of the country," Spartz said.

Last year, Republican Congresswoman Victoria Spartz said she would not vote for the $60 billion aid package for Ukraine proposed by the US Senate.
