Spartz accused Telegraph of falsification: I said Ukraine cannot regain its territories, but it cannot give them to Russia

Victoria Spartz

Ukrainian-born Republican Congresswoman Victoria Spartz said that The Telegraph had distorted her statement about Ukraine's territorial concessions.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the official website of the congresswoman.

"Yesterday, the UK Telegraph wrote an article with a headline intentionally misrepresenting Congresswoman Spartz’s position on Ukraine. This headline was "conveniently" used by the Zelensky propaganda machine to smear her and President Trump and continue blaming the United States for Zelensky’s loss and betrayal of his country," the statement said.

It claims that after several contacts with Spartz's team, "The Telegraph deleted the quotes but still kept a colon to make an appearance of this false statement."

It is noted that instead, Congresswoman Spartz made the following statement to explain her current position on Ukraine:

"It’s not surprising that the UK media is as dishonest as the US mainstream media, so let me set the record straight. I spent an enormous amount of energy trying to help the Ukrainian military to win their brutal fight against Russia. Unfortunately, if you have morons and crooks like Zelensky and his puppet parliament running your country, it’s a lost cause. Putin might be evil, but he is not a moron. The current reality on the ground is that Ukraine is not in the position to retake its territories, nor could they agree to give them up permanently. Therefore, only a temporary solution with the help of the United States can be achieved, which will give each side some time to regroup. The end result of that war will have to be decided later and not just on a battlefield."

As reported earlier, Spartz said that Ukrainians "must accept" the transfer of their territories to Russia and demand the resignation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
