Vance repeats phrases of Russian propaganda and does not understand what is happening in Ukraine - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that US Vice President JD Vance demonstrates a lack of understanding of the war in Ukraine and repeats the rhetoric previously voiced by Russian propaganda.
He said this in an interview with 60 Minutes, Censor.NET reports.
During a conversation with journalists, Zelenskyy noted that during meetings between the Ukrainian side and American representatives, Kyiv has to "make excuses for something that never happened".
"This is a change in reality that I do not want to play," the president explained.
According to him, JD Vance has repeatedly expressed the opinion that the Russians are also suffering in the war, and there is no clear certainty as to who started the war.
"We did not attack - this is the first thing. It seems to me that Vice President Vance is somehow justifying Putin's actions. I tried to explain to him that there is no middle ground here, there is an aggressor and a victim. The Russians are the aggressor, we are the victim. Everyone understands this," Zelenskyy said.
The President also criticised the thesis that Putin allegedly "came to the territories where Russians live", which is usually used as a justification for occupation.
"I am in Ukraine and I understand what has happened, but he does not understand at all. He speaks in the same phrases that Russians used to say on TV before," Zelenskyy concluded.
