Trump on Zelenskyy: "When you start war, you have to know you can win"

Trump criticizes Zelensky

US President Donald Trump has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of "incompetence" and reiterated that "three people" are to blame for the war started by Russia.

He said this at a briefing with El Salvadoran President Naib Buchele in the Oval Office, Censor.NET reports citing Sky News.

"If Biden had been competent, and if Zelenskyy had been competent, and I'm not sure he is... This war would not have started... We had a difficult meeting with him. He just kept asking for more and more... As soon as the election was rigged and I was out of the White House, the war started," Trump said.

According to the American leader, Biden and Zelenskyy could have stopped it.

"And Putin should not have started it at all. Millions of people died because of three people. I would say three people. Let's say Putin is number one. But Biden, who did not understand what he was doing, is number two. And Zelenskyy. All I can do now is try to stop it. This war is Biden's war, and I'm trying to end it. It's a slaughter, just like the Civil War. I look at the satellite images... And I think we're doing a good job. I think we're going to have some very good proposals (for Ukraine - ed.) very soon," Trump said.

He also criticized Zelenskyy's desire to get military aid for his country.

"He always wants to buy missiles. When you start a war, you have to know that you can win. You don't start a war against someone who is 20 times bigger than you and then hope that people will give you some missiles," Trump said of the Ukrainian president.
