Fico to go to Putin on May 9 despite EU warnings

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico plans to go to Moscow on May 9, despite the European Union's demands not to make such a visit.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
"I am going to Moscow on May 9. Is the warning from Ms. Kallas (EU diplomat Kaja Kallas - ed.) blackmail or an announcement that I will be punished after I return from Moscow? I do not know, but I know that it is 2025, not 1939," Fico said.
According to the Slovak prime minister, "no one can tell him where he should or should not go."
Fico also believes that the EU should hold a "debate on the essence of democracy" because he does not like what "happened in Romania or France and what the West is doing in Georgia or Serbia."
Earlier, EU diplomat Kaja Kallas emphasized that any participation of EU leaders in the May 9 parade in Moscow would not be "taken lightly." She also noted that this applies not only to EU countries, but also to those countries that want to join the bloc.
