Witkoff discussed Ukrainian territories with Putin: Russia may receive part of regions - WSJ

Witkoff

During his recent visit to Russia, US Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Witkoff discussed issues related to Ukrainian territories with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This is reported by The Wall Street Journal, Censor.NET informs .

In a conversation with the WSJ, Witkoff confirmed that the Russian dictator was "obsessed" with the topic of Ukrainian territories. The U.S. special envoy suggested that Russia "may get some of the regions," but not all of them. According to him, Ukraine "may worry less about some regions" if they are Russian-speaking.

Commenting on this, the WSJ notes that Witkoff's position may contradict Washington's official line, which is to support Ukraine's territorial integrity.

At the same time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly stated that no territorial concessions to Russia are being considered, and Ukraine will not give up any occupied region.
