Ukraine demonstrates fastest pace on path to EU among all candidate countries - Shmyhal
Ukraine is currently demonstrating the fastest pace of European integration among all countries that have ever sought to join the European Union.
This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
He answered a deputy's question about the merger of the positions of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Minister of Justice.
"There is a large layer of legal work in the area of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. This decision (to combine the positions - ed.) is 100% justified. We are moving forward with the support of the parliament for all the necessary bills, then we are implementing all the necessary regulations by the government; we are doing a lot of legal work with the European Commission," Shmyhal said.
He emphasized that the decision to combine the positions was justified and in line with current legislation. According to the Prime Minister, this is also a political signal of the priority of the European integration course for Ukraine.
