Zelenskyy on Russian strike on Kharkiv: You have to be outright scum to launch missiles on eve of Easter

Ukraine is appealing to partners to provide air defense systems and missiles to protect itself from Russian cruise and ballistic missiles.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his telegram channel, Censor.NET reports.
Work is ongoing in Kharkiv following a Russian missile strike. Preliminary reports indicate the use of cruise missiles—likely Iskanders. One missile detonated mid-air directly over a residential district, while another hit an industrial facility near civilian housing.
"Residential buildings were damaged. Over a hundred people have been injured. Everyone is receiving medical assistance. They’re ordinary people—some elderly, some very young. People simply living their lives in their own country, in their own city. And that alone makes them a target for Russia—for Russian missiles.
You have to be outright scum to show such disregard for life and launch missile strikes on a regular city—on Good Friday, just before Easter. When we appeal to our partners—primarily the United States—for Patriot systems and the missiles needed to intercept this Russian evil—cruise missiles, ballistic missiles—we are appealing for the kind of protection every nation deserves," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Head of State called for strengthening sanctions against Russia.
"There must be no distinction between nations when it comes to who ‘deserves’ help more or less. Offering help—especially when it is possible—is the Christian thing to do. And no terrorist should be able to avoid consequences simply because of who they are. If they destroy lives, they must be held accountable—just like any other. Russia deserves, at the very least, harsh sanctions as retribution for all it has done," Zelenskyy said.
The President reminded that today Ukraine expanded its sanctions to include nearly a hundred additional entities—both individuals and legal entities—most of whom are involved in the production of missiles, including Iskanders, the same type used in the recent strike on Kharkiv.
"Many of these entities are Russian, but unfortunately, some are Chinese. We will continue working with our partners to ensure our sanctions are synchronized. Everyone who contributes to killing and prolonging this war must be held accountable. And I am grateful to all those around the world who support this position," he added.
