Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is afraid of a larger Europe, as well as "the power of freedom and the appeal of democracy." This is the reason why he started a war against Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET with reference to La Repubblica, this was stated by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
"No country has ever been forced to join the EU. Everyone wanted to be part of this group. And that is why Vladimir Putin started his war against Ukraine. Ukraine simply wanted to join the EU. Putin, after all, is too afraid of a big Europe," von der Leyen emphasized.
