German authorities are investigating incidents involving unidentified drones appearing over critical infrastructure facilities in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.

This was reported by Spiegel, citing an internal memo, according to Censor.NET.

According to preliminary data, the flights may have been deliberate and intended to survey these objects.

The drones were spotted on September 25 after 9 p.m. Initially, two small devices flew over the Thyssenkrupp plant, and later a group of drones flew over the Kiel University Clinic. After 10 p.m., similar devices appeared over the coastal power plant and the Northeast Canal, as well as over the Kiel Bay.

In addition, drones flew over the state parliament building in Kiel and observed the Heide oil refinery, which supplies gas to Hamburg Airport. According to police observations, the drones flew in parallel trajectories, which may indicate an attempt to take precise measurements.

Minister of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein Zabine Zütterlin-Vaak confirmed the investigation on suspicion of espionage, but refused to disclose details. Similarly, the German Federal Ministry of the Interior did not provide any details about the incident.

We would like to remind you that on the night of September 26, over the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, located near Denmark, unknown drones were detected.
