30 shellings of Sumy region in a day: damage in 8 communities

During the day, from the morning of January 6 to the morning of January 7, 2026, Russian troops carried out nearly 30 attacks on 21 settlements in 11 territorial communities of the Sumy region. Most attacks were recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.

This was reported by the head of the RMA, Oleh Hryhorov, according to Censor.NET.

The following communities were attacked by the enemy:

  • Sumy;
  • Bezdrytska;
  • Khotynska;
  • Yunakivska;
  • Myropilskaya;
  • Krasnopilskaya;
  • Bilopilskaya;
  • Shalyginskaya;
  • Seredyna-Budsa;
  • Shostka;
  • Burynska;
  • Velykopysarivska.

As a result of Russian shelling of the region, there were no casualties among civilians during the day.

In the Myropil community, the death of a 61-year-old woman as a result of hostile shelling on January 5 has been confirmed.

The enemy used artillery, mortars, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs on the territory of Sumy region.

Civilian infrastructure facilities damaged and destroyed:

  • A car was damaged in the Bezdrytska district.
  • Non-residential buildings were damaged in the Velykopysarivska district.
  • In the Buryn district, a civilian infrastructure facility and a private home were damaged.
  • In the Shostka district, private homes, non-residential premises, and cars were damaged.
  • Residential buildings and a car were damaged in the Seredyna-Buda district.
  • In the Znob-Novhorod district, a house and non-residential premises were damaged.
  • According to updated information, a house has been damaged in the Esman district.
  • Residential buildings, non-residential premises, and a car were damaged in the Hlukhiv district.

Over the course of a day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations from border communities, evacuated 11 people.
