Information silence became key factor in success of Defense Forces in Zaporizhzhia direction, - Commander of Airborne Assault Forces Apostol

The strategic role of information silence in liberating settlements in the south

Maintaining information silence was a key factor in the success of the Airborne Assault Forces in liberating settlements in southern Ukraine.

According to Censor.NET, this was stated in an interview with Podrobytsi by Major General Oleh Apostol, commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Maintain complete silence. Including at all stages. And this simply applies to certain moments in the future, people who should not be highlighted, especially our successes," he said.

He noted that maintaining silence is an important factor in organizing operations. In particular, if information is disclosed too early, the Russians will react to it. However, as long as information is delayed at certain levels among the occupiers and the truth is not being told, Ukraine is achieving success, he said.

"And you can lose that success, or at least stop at that point. But as long as it remains quiet, you still have the opportunity to move forward," the commander of the Airborne Assault Forces added.

At the same time, he refused to say that the situation in the Zaporizhzhia region had stabilized.

"I cannot be responsible for the entire Zaporizhzhia direction. I only operate in a certain area. And you understand that they want both Orikhiv and Zaporizhia itself. Here, where I work now, you can't say that the situation is stable, because, for example, you are working one way now, and in a week there will be some reserves," explained the major general.
