Large-scale power cuts have been reported in occupied Crimea following drone attack

On the night of 2 April, power cuts were reported across occupied Crimea following a drone attack.
According to Censor.NET, this has been reported by local public groups.
Explosions and drone attacks in various areas
According to reports, the drone attack occurred in waves. The first reports of the raid emerged around 17:30, and the second wave of drones was recorded at approximately 20:45. Numerous explosions have been reported, particularly in the northern part of the peninsula and near Simferopol in the area of the Tavriia TPP.
The occupying authorities in Sevastopol declared an air raid alert, which was later lifted. Monitoring sources claim that the strikes may have targeted energy infrastructure facilities.
Widespread power cuts
Amid the attacks, power supplies were cut off in several districts simultaneously. According to available data, Dzhankoi and the surrounding area, Krasnoperekopsk and nearby settlements, Armiansk, Saki, Feodosia, and the Chervonohvardiiskyi district were left without power.
Local residents report that loud explosions were heard before the power went out. In some areas, the power went out for a short time, and a lack of water supply has also been reported.
Meanwhile, the company responsible for the peninsula’s electricity supply stated that the power cut was caused by technical faults in the main power grids.
- As a reminder, on 24 March, an explosion occurred in a residential building in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol during the night, after which a large-scale fire broke out.
