Lifting sanctions against Friedman and Usmanov would send wrong signal to Moscow, - Sybiha
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called on the EU not to ease the pressure of sanctions on Russia and not to remove Russian oligarchs Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from the sanctions lists.
He announced this on the social media platform X, according to Censor.NET.

"Usmanova and Friedman have been added to the sanctions list because they are part of the aggressive Russian regime waging a war of aggression against Ukraine. What has changed? Nothing.
"Removing them from the list is unacceptable and would send the wrong signal to Moscow at a time when pressure needs to be stepped up," he stressed.
According to Sybiha, sanctions must be tightened, the sanctions lists expanded, and the duration of the sanctions extended from six to twelve months – "to minimise counterproductive ideas aimed at serving the interests of Russian oligarchs".
What led up to it?
It was previously reported that, on the morning of 21 September, the ambassadors of the European Union member states once again failed to reach an agreement on extending individual sanctions against Russia for violating Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. The talks will resume after lunch.
