Trump has mentioned Biden nearly 900 times since start of year: in particular, he has criticised him for providing aid to Ukraine, – Reuters
Since the start of 2026, US President Donald Trump has mentioned his predecessor Joe Biden 890 times in posts, speeches and comments — an average of at least three times a day — notably accusing the former president of providing excessive aid to Ukraine at the expense of American reserves.

The extent of the criticism
According to the publication, Trump is doing everything he can to keep his predecessor at the centre of the debate — against the backdrop of the Republican Party’s struggle to retain control of Congress in the mid-term elections in November 2026.
- According to a Reuters analysis, since 1 January 2026, Trump has mentioned Biden by name at least 890 times during nearly 200 events and interviews, as well as in around 190 posts on Truth Social.
Most frequently — 210 times — the president criticised his predecessor in relation to the economy; 168 times in relation to immigration; and 138 times in relation to foreign policy and national security. The record was set at the NATO summit in Turkey in July 2026, when Trump mentioned Biden 16 times in a single day.
Allegations regarding aid to Ukraine
Trump has repeatedly accused Biden of allegedly supplying Ukraine with an excessive amount of American ammunition. According to the current President of the US, this is precisely why there is now a shortage of supplies to meet the US’s own needs during the war against Iran.
"To be honest, I’d like to have more [ammunition], but Biden has sent so much of everything to Ukraine," Trump told reporters on 27 July.
Earlier, on 3 September, Trump wrote on Truth Social that the Biden administration had provided Ukraine with significantly more ammunition free of charge than the US had used during its operation in Iran, and hinted at his intention to seek compensation from Europe for this.
"Hundreds of billions of dollars were given to Ukraine and NATO for free — money that Europe would have paid if it had simply been asked — but we will demand these funds back, albeit with some delay!" — he wrote at the time.
Other areas of criticism
Trump also accused Biden on at least 138 occasions of being responsible for various international crises — ranging from Russia’s war against Ukraine to the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan and the approach to relations with China. As for Iran, the US leader mentioned his predecessor at least 37 times, accusing him of not being tough enough on Tehran and of concluding the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, even though the negotiations at the time were led by President Barack Obama, under whom Biden served as vice-president.
The reaction of opponents
Biden’s current press secretary, T.J. Duclo, declined to comment on the situation to Reuters. Meanwhile, a former senior member of the Biden administration, Megan Hayes, criticised Trump’s behaviour, describing it as "obsessive".
"Nine hundred mentions in less than a year — that’s not governance, that’s obsession. Joe Biden beat him once, and Trump still can’t come to terms with it," she said, adding that the Republican is more focused on challenging the results of the 2020 election than on bringing down prices for Americans.
