Russia has attacked seven regions of Ukraine: there are fatalities and dozens of wounded. PHOTOS
On 21–22 September, Russian troops carried out strikes on populated areas in Ukraine. The Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under enemy fire.

The attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings, businesses, outbuildings, machinery and other civilian infrastructure.
Four people were injured in the Sumy region
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 29 shelling attacks on 24 settlements in the Sumy region using various types of weaponry, according to the regional police.
In the Bilopillia community, a 48-year-old man was injured when an enemy drone struck.
In the Sumy community, a 25-year-old man sought medical attention after sustaining injuries from a KAB strike on 20 September. A 15-year-old boy also required medical treatment after being injured in a KAB strike on 18 September.
In the Seredyno-Budska community, a 60-year-old man was admitted to hospital after sustaining injuries on 20 September as a result of mortar fire.
A downed Russian drone exploded in Chernihiv
On the morning of 22 September, Russian forces struck the north-eastern outskirts of Chernihiv.
According to local authorities, a downed Russian ‘Geran’ UAV crashed and exploded. The explosion damaged a fence, and debris from the drone caught fire.
The day before, on 21 September, Russian troops attacked the border communities of Chernihiv Oblast – Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Koriukivka. At least six settlements came under fire.
A woman was killed and a 13-year-old boy was wounded in the Kharkiv region
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have attacked 11 settlements in the Kharkiv region, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the regional military administration.
In the village of Katerynivka, Lozova community, a 45-year-old woman was killed and a 13-year-old boy was injured as a result of the shelling.
The enemy used guided aerial bombs, multiple launch rocket systems, ‘Geran-2’ UAVs, ‘Molniya’ drones, FPV drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles.
The shelling damaged private homes, power lines, a farm and a civilian enterprise.
One person killed and 11 civilians wounded in Donetsk Oblast
On 21 September, Russian forces carried out 1,686 strikes along the front line and in residential areas of the Donetsk region. Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, Sloviansk and other settlements came under fire, according to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, and the regional police.
In Kramatorsk, one person was killed and seven others, including two children, were injured as a result of 16 strikes. Block-of-flats and private houses, a shop and cars were damaged.
In Druzhkivka, two civilians were injured in an attack by an FPV drone.
One person was injured in Sloviansk. In Krasnotorets, following strikes by three KAB bombs, a civilian was injured and six private homes and a piece of infrastructure were damaged.
One person was killed and nine others were injured in the Zaporizhzhia region
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 887 strikes on 57 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to Ivan Fedorov, co-chair of the Regional Defence Council, and Mykhailo Semikhin, head of the Regional Military Administration.
The occupiers carried out air strikes, attacked the region with 644 drones, used multiple launch rocket systems 18 times and carried out 205 artillery strikes.
As a result of the enemy attacks in Zaporizhzhia, Zaporizhzhia District and Polohiv District, one person was killed and nine others were injured, including a child.
In addition, on the night of 22 September, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia again. Two strikes were recorded in the city, damaging buildings and private homes, and a fire broke out in one of the premises. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
In the Kherson region, Russian attacks resulted in civilian injuries
Russian troops attacked settlements in the Kherson and Beryslav districts using artillery, FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles dropping explosive munitions, ‘Molniya’ drones and Shahed/‘Gerbera’-type UAVs, according to the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
In particular, in Kherson, a tractor belonging to a municipal utility company was damaged and its 45-year-old driver was injured when an FPV drone struck a landfill site.
On a road bridge in the Korabel neighbourhood, a 64-year-old man was injured when ammunition was dropped from a drone.
In Urozhaine, an FPV drone attacked a 50-year-old man. He sustained multiple shrapnel wounds.
A three-year-old boy was killed in the Mykolaiv region
Russian troops attacked the Mykolaiv region with Shahed-type drones, according to Heorhii Reshetilov, acting head of the regional military administration.
A three-year-old boy was killed as a result of the attack in the Voznesensk district.
In the Bashtanka district, four men aged between 21 and 37 were injured. Three of them have been hospitalised. The condition of one of the victims is described as critical, and another’s as stable but serious.
In the Kirovohrad region, the consequences of the strikes are being assessed
The Kirovohrad region was also among the main targets of the Russian forces’ offensive, according to Andrii Raikovych, head of the regional military administration.
As a result of the enemy attack in the Popelnastivska community of the Oleksandriia district, a private house has been destroyed. A further seven properties have been damaged.
"We have received information about another house damaged as a result of the enemy attack. Minor damage to a private property has been recorded in the Velykoandrusivska community of the Oleksandriia district," said Raikovych.
