The figures cited by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk – claiming that 27,000 Ukrainian soldiers are killed or wounded every month – do not correspond to reality
This was stated live on air by Yurii Butusov, commander of the UAV company of the 23rd Assault Regiment, part of the National Guard’s 2nd Corps "Charter", according to Censor.NET.

"This statement has caused quite a stir, and to a great many people it certainly appears to be completely verified official information. It must be said, however, that all of this is false information and has in fact not been confirmed at all."
"Because, according to the data I have, the actual casualties are completely different. Completely different. Ukraine’s casualties on the front line are significantly lower," Butusov emphasised.
He contacted sources within the leadership of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, who reported that the actual losses were at least three times lower, or in some periods four times lower.
"So, to be honest, I find it very strange where Tusk got this information from. I would like to point out that the figure of 27,000 dead and wounded far exceeds the total number of troops Ukraine mobilises each month. And if such figures were true, Ukraine simply wouldn’t have anyone left to fight with. Fortunately, this is not the case. And I can tell you that the number of dead and wounded amounts to no more than 30 per cent of what was stated there," added the commander.
Butusov also explained that a significant number of people are leaving the Ukrainian armed forces because they are deserting or leaving for other reasons – not because they have been wounded or killed, but, for example, for various reasons that allow them to be discharged on legal grounds.
"For example, caring for the sick, or, for instance, health or age.
So, even if you add up all these figures, all of this, for the whole month, it still wouldn’t come anywhere near 27,000, or even 50 per cent. So, to be frank, it’s very surprising where Tusk got this information from and why he’s announcing it in the Sejm. To be honest, I’m curious about the source. I’m very surprised that the Ukrainian government isn’t asking where the Polish Prime Minister got this information from, or why this figure hasn’t been refuted. Well, it’s strange," he concluded.
