Khmara held talks with Kubilius: they discussed speeding up funding for Defence Forces’ critical needs

The Ukrainian Minister of Defence, Yevhen Khmara, held a telephone conversation with Andrius Kubilius, the European Commissioner for Defence and Space. The parties discussed accelerating funding for the critical needs of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

The head of the defence ministry announced this on social media, according to Censor.NET.

Speeding up assistance

During the conversation, Khmara thanked the European Union for the latest tranche of €3.3 billion under the Ukraine Support Loan.

"These funds are extremely important for defending Ukraine’s airspace. They will be used to finance the procurement of drones and air defence systems," emphasised the head of the Ministry of Defence.

In addition, Khmara commended the efforts of the European Union in addressing Ukraine’s requests and providing funding to strengthen its defence capabilities.

"Speed is of the essence in this matter. The sooner decisions are taken and funds are made available, the sooner the necessary resources reach the battlefield and bolster the capabilities of our armed forces," emphasised the Defence Minister.
