Starting on the evening of October 4, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 205 strike drones of various types. Air defense forces shot down or neutralized 172 enemy UAVs.
According to Censor.NET, this information was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
The enemy deployed Shahed-type attack drones, including 49 jet-powered ones, as well as "Gerbera," ‘Banderol’/"Dan-T," and "Parodiya"-type decoy drones.
The UAVs were launched from the following directions:
- Oryol, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk—the Russian Federation;
- the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast;
- the TOT of Crimea—Hvardiiske.
Air defense operations
The air attack was repelled by fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 172 enemy UAVs.
At the same time, airstrikes were recorded at 13 locations. Debris from downed drones fell at three additional locations.
The air attack was still ongoing at the time this report was published. About ten enemy UAVs remained in the airspace.
The Air Force urged citizens to follow safety guidelines.
