Russia has attacked number of regions in Ukraine: there have been fatalities and dozens of injuries, including children. PHOTOS

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have attacked the Sumy, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. The shelling has resulted in fatalities and dozens of casualties, including children.

Sumy region: one man killed, 27 people injured

In the Sumy community, a 52-year-old man was killed and another, aged 29, was injured as a result of drone strikes, according to the regional police.

Twenty-one people were injured by Russian aerial bombs, including a one-year-old child. Those injured included men aged between 29 and 79 and women aged between 25 and 98.

In the Sveska community, a 59-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man were injured as a result of a drone strike. In the Velykopysarivska community, a 70-year-old man was injured in a drone explosion.

In the Shostka community, a Russian UAV struck a car, injuring a 57-year-old woman. In the Seredyno-Budska community, a 58-year-old man was injured when a drone struck a house.

Chernihiv region: a 10-year-old child is in a serious condition

Over the past 24 hours, five civilians have been injured as a result of Russian attacks in the Chernihiv region, according to Viacheslav Chaus, head of the regional military administration.

At around 10:00, a Russian strike drone attacked a village in the Nosivska community in the Nizhyn district. A 76-year-old woman, a 55-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy were injured. All suffered thermal burns.

The child was initially taken to the intensive care unit and later transferred to a hospital in Kyiv. The boy is in a serious condition. The woman and the man are receiving outpatient treatment.

As a result of the attack, a house was destroyed and neighbouring properties were damaged.

During the day, a Russian drone attacked a civilian vehicle in the village of Liskonohy in the Novhorod-Siverskyi community. A woman was injured and received medical attention.

In the evening, a drone attacked a village in the Yabluniv community in the Pryluky district. An elderly woman was injured and diagnosed with an acute stress reaction. A house was also damaged, and a fire broke out there.

Overnight, a Russian drone struck a grain store in a settlement in the Sedniv community, Chernihiv district. The fire was extinguished.

Donetsk region: one person injured

Over the past 24 hours, on 4 October, the police recorded 1,299 attacks along the front line and in residential areas of the Donetsk region.

Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, the village of Bilenke, and the villages of Krynytsi and Novostepanivka came under fire. Forty-three civilian facilities were damaged, including 17 residential buildings.

In Kramatorsk, the Russians carried out 10 strikes, five of which involved KAB-250 aerial bombs. One person was injured. Three private houses, an ambulance station, a garage and 17 civilian vehicles were damaged.

Sloviansk was attacked four times – by drones and ‘Smerch’ multiple launch rocket systems. Three private homes and two cars were damaged.

The towns of Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, the settlement of Bilenke, and the villages of Krynytsi and Novostepanivka came under fire.

In Bilenke, 10 private homes and two garages were damaged; in Krynytsi, a block of flats was damaged.

Kharkiv region: one man killed, 12 people injured

Over the past 24 hours, Kharkiv and 10 other settlements in the region have come under Russian attack, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

A 42-year-old man was killed as a result of the shelling, and a further 12 people were injured.

In Kharkiv, women aged 28, 39 and 53, and men aged 28 and 43, were injured. A 41-year-old man was also diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.

In Zolochiv, a 62-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were injured. In Izium, men aged 58 and 75 were injured. In Borova, a 65-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman were injured.

Medical staff also treated a 56-year-old man who was injured on 3 October in Ruska Lozova, Derhachi community.

The Russians attacked the Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi and Industrial districts of Kharkiv with missiles and drones.

In total, across the region, the enemy deployed three missiles, one multiple launch rocket system, seven ‘Geran-2’ UAVs, two ‘Molniya’ drones, nine FPV drones and a further 136 drones, the type of which is yet to be determined.

In Kharkiv, an educational establishment, six vehicles, five blocks of flats, a non-residential building, an administrative building and a café were damaged.

Damage was also reported in the Bohodukhiv, Izium, Kharkiv and Chuhuiv districts.

Dnipropetrovsk region: nearly 20 drone attacks

During the morning of 5 October, Russian forces carried out nearly 20 drone attacks on three districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the regional military administration, the district centre and the communities of Marhanetsk, Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka in the Nikopol district were targeted. An administrative building was damaged.

In the Novooleksandrivka community in the Dniprovskyi district, the attack caused a fire.

In the Synelnykivskyi district, the enemy struck the Vasylkivska and Dubovykivska communities. Private homes and agricultural machinery were damaged.

Kherson region: six wounded

Over the past 24 hours, Kherson and around 20 other settlements in the region came under Russian air, drone and artillery strikes, according to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

Russian forces targeted critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential areas. A high-rise block and seven private homes, a mobile phone mast, a gas pipeline, an agricultural enterprise, a minibus and private cars were damaged.

Six people were injured as a result of the Russian aggression.

Mykolaiv region: Russians attacked Mykolaiv with missiles

On the afternoon of 5 October, Russian troops attacked Mykolaiv with ‘Banderol’ missiles. A 58-year-old man was injured, according to Heorhii Reshetilov, acting head of the Regional Military Administration.

Paramedics treated him at the scene; he will subsequently receive outpatient treatment. The attack damaged storage facilities and three cars.

The Mykolaiv district was also attacked by FPV drones. The Halytsynivska and Kutsurubska communities were targeted; there are no reports of casualties.

Attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district: two people killed, two others injured

Two people were killed and two others wounded as a result of Russian attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district, according to Ivan Fedorov, co-chair of the regional defence council.

In total, over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 891 strikes on 52 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In particular, the occupiers carried out 25 air strikes on Kushuhum, Komyshuvakha, Malokaterynivka, Zarichne, Tavriiske, Serhiivka, Novoiakovlivka, Zhovtenke, Odarivka, Prymorske, Lukianivske, Orikhiv, Novoselivka, Mykilske, Chervonyi Yar, Yehorivka, Shyroke, Vasynivka and Yasna Poliana.

A further 719 UAVs of various types, predominantly FPV drones, attacked Zaporizhzhia and a number of settlements in the region.

Two rocket attacks from multiple launch rocket systems were also recorded on Novoandriivka and Verkhnia Tersa.

In addition, Russian troops carried out 145 artillery strikes on Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivskyi, Orikhiv, Zaliznychnyi, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Preobrazhenka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka and Nove Zaporizhzhia.
