On the night of October 7, Russia attacked Ukraine with various types of missiles and 130 attack drones. Air defense forces shot down 161 aerial targets.
This is mentioned in a report by the Air Force, according to Censor.NET.
What did the enemy use to attack?
- Zircon/Onyx anti-ship missiles from the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation;
- Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk and Voronezh regions of the Russian Federation;
- 48 air-, land-, and sea-based X-101, Iskander-K, and Kalibr cruise missiles from the Vologda and Kursk regions and the Caspian Sea, respectively;
- 130 Shahed-type attack UAVs (46 of which are jet-powered), Gerber UAVs, and "Parody"-type decoy drones from the following directions: Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk—Russian Federation; the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk; and Gvardeyskoye—the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The main targets of the attack were the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
How did the air defense system perform?
As of 9:00 a.m., air defense forces had neutralized 161 targets:
- 5 Iskander-M/KN-23/S-400/Zircon/Onyx ballistic missiles;
- 39 X-101, Iskander-K, and Kalibr cruise missiles (information regarding 6 additional cruise missiles is being verified);
- 117 enemy Shahed-type UAVs (38 of which are jet-powered), Gerber UAVs, and other types of drones.
Missile and UAV strikes were recorded at 18 locations. Debris was found at 5 locations.
The enemy's attack is currently ongoing, with up to ten drones in Ukrainian airspace.
Intense shelling on October 7, 2026
- As reported, the enemy attacked Ukraine with missiles.
- Ruscists struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles: two people were killed, and a warehouse and a garage cooperative were damaged.
- A strike on a residential area in the Poltava region has been reported: high-rise buildings have been damaged.
- In the Kirovohrad region, one person was killed as a result of a Russian strike.
- Russia struck a high-rise building in Pryluky, Chernihiv region. There are fatalities and injuries.
