Following massive attack, Sybiha called on partners to strengthen sanctions against Russia’s military-industrial complex and provide Ukraine with more air defense systems

Sybiha called on partners to step up sanctions and support for Ukraine

Following the Russian attack on the night of October 6, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called on partners to tighten sanctions against Russia’s military-industrial complex. He also called for Ukraine to be provided with the necessary air defense systems and energy assistance ahead of winter.

This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sibiga called on partners to impose additional restrictions on the Russian defense-industrial complex, particularly on companies that manufacture ballistic missiles and the "Rassvet" satellite system.

The foreign minister called the new Russian attack a "gift" from Vladimir Putin to himself for his birthday.

"But his biggest gift will be a cell in The Hague. We are preparing a Special Tribunal on the crime of aggression against Ukraine for its launch as early as next year," Sybiha said.

According to him, during the nighttime attack, Russia struck residential buildings and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk, and Pryluky.

Sibiga also stated that Russia had lost 1.6 million military personnel—killed or wounded—without achieving the strategic objectives of its full-scale invasion.

"Putin is not winning this war and never will. He has lost 1.6 million military personnel—killed or wounded—without achieving any of the strategic objectives of his invasion," the minister emphasized.
