Trump: "I’ll speak to Putin today, it’s his birthday"

US President Donald Trump said he would speak by phone with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on 7 October.
He said this while speaking to journalists, according to Censor.NET.

"I have a call set up. Today is his birthday. Today is Vladimir Putin's birthday. I'm sure you're gonna celebrate it... I have settled eight wars. There is another one on the horizon," he said.
According to the Russian outlet The Insider, leaders of at least 15 countries publicly wished Putin a happy birthday. Nine of them have done so every year since Russia launched its full-scale military invasion of Ukraine.
"As of the evening of 7 October, The Insider had found confirmation of birthday greetings to Vladimir Putin on his 74th birthday from the leaders of at least 15 states. In 2025, there were at least 19 such countries, compared with 16 in 2024, 11 in 2023 and 14 in 2022," the outlet noted.
The Insider also compared the lists for five years: every year since 2022, the leaders of nine states have publicly wished the Russian dictator a happy birthday — Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Nicaragua.
