UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband visited a building destroyed by a Russian missile strike in Pryluky and stressed that support for Ukraine would continue "for as long as it takes".
He wrote this on the social media platform X, Censor.NET reports.
A barbaric war of terror
Miliband visited Pryluky on Thursday morning with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He also published photos.
"I visited Pryluky in Ukraine, the site of a horrific attack by Russia earlier this week. 22 innocent people lost their lives there, including tragically 5 children, as a result of Putin's barbaric war of terror on the Ukrainian people. My message was clear: we will stand with the people of Ukraine for as long as it takes," the minister emphasised.
Background
- During Russia's massive missile attack on Ukraine on October 7, a missile struck a five-storey residential building in Pryluky.
- Two sections of the apartment building were destroyed. Other residential buildings, a children and youth creativity center, a business, and vehicles were damaged.
- As of the morning of October 8, the deaths of 22 people, including five children, had been confirmed. Another 54 people were injured, including seven children.
- October 7, 8 and 9 were declared days of mourning in Pryluky for those killed.
