Ukrainian and US delegations will discuss "new ideas and proposals for peace", - Axios

Delegations from Ukraine and the US are due to hold a meeting in Miami tomorrow, 9 October, to discuss a peaceful resolution to the war. The parties will discuss new ideas and proposals for achieving peace.

Who will represent Ukraine and the US
According to the source, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will meet with Ukrainian representatives to discuss new proposals that US negotiators began developing jointly with Russia and Ukraine during a recent visit to the region.
On the Ukrainian side, the meeting will be attended by the head of the ‘Servant of the People’ parliamentary faction, Davyd Arakhamia; the head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Rustem Umerov ; and the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov.
Representatives from the UN Security Council and the US Department of the Treasury will also be present on the American side.
In addition, Washington has invited national security advisers from the UK, France and Germany, as well as representatives from NATO and the EU.
Security guarantees and a plan for Ukraine’s recovery
The parties will discuss proposals regarding security guarantees for Ukraine, a post-war prosperity plan and other aspects of the war.
According to a US source, the approach of winter is also a key factor in the talks.
"They are all nervous about winter. It will be a harsh winter if the war does not end. That is why the US is trying to act as a mediator between the parties with the aim of putting together a unified proposal," the source noted.
- The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that talks between the Ukrainian delegation and US representatives would take place on 9 and 10 October in the US. He said the Ukrainian side would call for increased pressure on Russia.
