72.6% of Ukrainians support banning Russian Orthodox Church and consider its representatives to be Russian agents, - poll

Nearly three-quarters of Ukrainians surveyed support banning the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) in Ukraine, linking its activities to Russian influence. At the same time, some respondents oppose state interference in religious matters or do not support such a ban.
This is evidenced by the results of a study by the "Operational Sociology" association, commissioned by the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory and presented during a briefing at "Ukrinform," according to Censor.NET.
According to the survey results, 72.6% of respondents consider representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church to be Russian agents and fully support banning this church in Ukraine.
Another 11.6% of those surveyed believe that the government should not interfere in religious matters.
At the same time, 6% of respondents describe the Russian Orthodox Church as "canonical" and do not support its ban.
How the survey was conducted
The survey was conducted via telephone interviews. A total of 2,007 adult respondents from all regions of Ukraine, excluding the temporarily occupied territories, were interviewed.
The results were presented on October 13 during an event organized by the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.
