Teenager discovers warhead in yard
A 14-year-old resident of a neighbouring house reported the dangerous discovery to police following another enemy attack. Fortunately, neither the teenager nor anyone else was injured.
During an inspection of the scene, law enforcement officers established that a Geran-5 drone had damaged the roof and brick walls of a single-storey building, while its warhead, weighing approximately 90 kg, had become embedded in the ground. The munition also contained preformed fragmentation elements.
Explosion could have destroyed several homes
According to specialists, had the warhead detonated, the explosion could have destroyed the house and neighbouring homes within a radius of approximately 50 metres.
Bomb disposal experts rendered the warhead safe and transported it to a temporary demolition site for subsequent destruction.
