"UZ" on strike on Dnipro railway station: passengers were warned in advance, safety protocols will be reviewed

Ukrzaliznytsia said an evacuation was announced for passengers on a Zaporizhzhia-bound commuter train more than 10 minutes before the Russian strike on the railway station in Dnipro. Safety protocols will be reviewed following the attack, which killed 14 people.
This is stated in the company’s statement, according to Censor.NET.

"We once again urge everyone to follow the instructions and safety rules at our stations, around railway infrastructure and on our trains as closely as possible.
No humanity can be expected from the enemy, so it is critically important that we all deny it any opportunity, keep ourselves safe and follow the rules," the company stressed.
Circumstances of the Russian strike on the station
The company said the air raid alert declared in the city had been announced in advance throughout the Dnipro railway terminal and station.
"As the jet-powered UAV approached, Ukrzaliznytsia’s monitoring team identified an increased level of danger.
Orders to suspend train movements were immediately sent to both the locomotive crews and the station," UZ explained.
An evacuation was also announced on the commuter train scheduled to depart for Zaporizhzhia (with more than 10 minutes remaining before the strike).
"Public address announcements began, and the assistant train driver went through every carriage in accordance with the protocol (every carriage on the commuter train has a poster, and the announcements also clearly state that passengers must not simply leave the train but leave the platform as quickly as possible and move at least 200 metres away). The train’s locomotive crew evacuated ahead of the strike," the company said.
Evacuation announcements were also broadcast at the station.
"They were repeated several times. The announcements said that train departures would resume once the alert was over and that everyone must remain in shelters," Ukrzaliznytsia added.
However, despite all this, many people were in the immediate vicinity of the train at the time of the strike, resulting in such a high number of deaths and injuries.
Review of protocols
Ukrzaliznytsia says it will review all protocols to determine what else can be done.
"Either speed up the response within the time available, or ensure that everyone, without exception, moves to a safe place!
Station buildings across the country, platforms and stations, every train, both long-distance and commuter, are now priority targets for the enemy. Only maximum vigilance and attention to instructions save lives.
The enemy does not spare civilian facilities and deliberately targets railway infrastructure. Unfortunately, every station and every platform is now a high-risk area," the company added.
