Russian propagandist Sladkov on captured Ukrainian city of Donetsk: "It has turned into grim city with unswept streets". VIDEO

Russian propagandist Alexander Sladkov acknowledged that, following Russia’s arrival, occupied Donetsk had turned into a grim city with unswept streets and shuttered businesses.

As Censor.NET reports, Sladkov complained in a video address about the state of the city, which he said had previously been a place of comfort and hope.

"Donetsk has, of course, turned into a grim city with unswept streets. Well, we have to admit that during the war, it was simply a place of comfort, a place of hope that everything would shine just as brightly in the future, after victory," the propagandist said.

His admission about the changes following the Russian occupation was particularly telling.

"But then Russia came, and, frankly, walking along Donetsk’s unswept streets became a little less cheerful," Sladkov said.

He also acknowledged that the city’s businesses were closed, although some restaurants continued to operate.

"But we still need to remember what it was like during the Russian Spring and before the Russian Spring. Of course, it is still a long way from that," the Russian propagandist concluded
