UAH 27 million was overpaid for purchase of spare parts for combat aircraft: SSU exposes AFU officials. PHOTOS
The SSU and NABU exposed two officials of the Logistics Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for corruption.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press service.
"During 2022-2023, the defendants entered into contracts for the purchase of aircraft spare parts for Ukrainian combat aircraft, which caused losses to the Ukrainian budget of UAH 27.3 million. According to the investigation, officials of the Ministry of Defence purchased spare parts at an unreasonably high cost from a controlled intermediary company. To win the tender, the suspects involved several other affiliated commercial entities, including those with foreign registration," the statement said.
Thus, they created the appearance of competition, under the guise of which they secured a contract with the "right" company.
The SSU noted that the "profits" they made were hidden through a network of controlled companies.
They have been served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or position committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided. The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice. The suspects face up to 6 years in prison.
The Security Service also noted that the exposure of the officials took place with the assistance of Defence Minister Umierov and Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi.
