Fatal road accident in Odesa region: border guard killed, another injured - State Border Guard Service. PHOTOS

One border guard was killed in an accident on the road near the village of Yasky and another was hospitalised with injuries.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the State Border Guard Service.

The tragedy reportedly occurred at a checkpoint where border guards were checking vehicles. The driver of a "VAZ", a 66-year-old man, failed to comply with the speed limit and hit two servicemen of the State Border Guard Service.

"A 36-year-old border guard inspector of the Belgorod-Dniester border guard detachment, Chief Sergeant Denys Dubrovskyi, was killed in the hit-and-run. The deceased is survived by his wife, son and daughter. The serviceman had been serving in this border guard detachment since 2020, and before that he held positions in the units of the Azov-Black Sea Regional Directorate," the press service said.
