A Russian GRU agent who spied on the locations of the Defence Forces and adjusted air strikes by Russian troops was detained in Donetsk region.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press service.
This is a 51-year-old unemployed woman from the city of Kostiantynivka who was recruited by Russia in the summer of 2024.
"The agent tried to identify and pass on to the ruscists the locations of the fortifications and artillery positions of Ukrainian troops fighting for Chasiv Yar. Later, the Russian Federation planned to carry out air attacks on these units of the Armed Forces and thus create conditions for a breakthrough in the city's defence," the statement said.
The SSU CI exposed and detained the Russian agent at her place of residence. At the same time, comprehensive measures were taken to protect the relevant units of the Defence Forces.
During the search, the SSU seized computer equipment and a mobile phone with evidence of work for Russia.
The woman was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The offender is in custody. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
