The Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umierov visited the Khortytsia OSGT and the Unmanned Systems Forces, which have become an important element of defence resilience.
The minister announced this on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
During the visit, he discussed technologies and new developments that help to effectively counter the enemy. Together with Major General Andrii Hnatov, he discussed the current situation at the front and the urgent needs of the units.
"The Ministry of Defence is ensuring the sustainability of defence and building up reserves. Along with equipment from partners, more and more Ukrainian weapons are already operating at the front - and this is the result of joint efforts of defence officials and manufacturers," Umierov writes.
Special attention was paid to the development of the Unmanned Systems Forces. Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi demonstrated new developments and technologies that are already helping the Defence Forces in the fight against the aggressor.
"In December alone, the Defence Forces received more than 200,000 drones. The shortage of ammunition at the beginning of the year was closed by UAVs - today drones are destroying the enemy on land, water and in the air," the post says.
Umerov also emphasised the importance of properly integrating drones into combat units: "Drones should be deployed where they are needed most. This is a priority for the Ministry of Defence, and we are working on it."
The Minister thanked the soldiers for their courage and determination, presenting the awards personally.
