Two district prosecutors and two MSEC officials are suspected of fraud and forgery.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, Censor.NET informs.
Thus, the head and deputy head of district prosecutor's offices in different regions of the country illegally obtained the status of persons with disabilities of group II, which allowed one of them to fraudulently obtain more than UAH 1 million in pension payments, and the other - more than UAH 400 thousand.
"It was also established that the officials of the MSEC unreasonably assigned the prosecutors the second group of disability for an indefinite period of time, as indicated in their examination reports, which were subsequently sent to the Pension Fund of Ukraine for the calculation and payment of pensions," the statement said.
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint and removing the suspects from their positions is currently being decided.
The investigation into the abuses in the MSEC system is ongoing. Other people involved in corruption schemes are being identified.
The review of the MSEC decisions is also underway.
"In addition, an internal investigation into possible abuses of obtaining disability groups by prosecutors has been completed, and its findings have been attached to the materials of the criminal proceedings. In the course of the investigation, 5 prosecutors were dismissed from the prosecutor's office, and another 7 were dismissed from administrative positions," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Two prosecutors at different levels of the prosecutor's office were notified of suspicion of fraud (Article 190(4) and (5) of the Criminal Code). Also, two officials of medical and social expert commissions were notified of suspicion of forgery in office (Article 366(1) of the Criminal Code).
