They wanted to blow up fuel tanker in Dnipro: SSU detains two FSB agents. PHOTOS

The SSU and the National Police prevented a terrorist attack at a railway station in Dnipro, which was planned to be carried out on the order of the FSB.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press service.

"As a result of the special operation, two Russian agents were detained who had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) on the track where a fuel tanker was standing. Law enforcement officers also neutralised the explosives, which the suspects planned to activate remotely," the statement said.

The offenders were two drug addicts from Dnipro aged 23 and 36, who lived in a civil marriage.

The pair were looking for "money for a swing" on Telegram channels and came to the attention of the FSB.

Following the instructions of the Russian Federation, the criminals made an explosive device in their own home. They purchased the components online and ordered delivery to different addresses.

They hoped in vain to receive money transfers from Russia.

The actions of the offenders are classified under Part 2 Article 15, Part 2 Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (completed attempted terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).

They are in custody. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
