Border guards of the Palad Komarivtsi department of the Chop detachment detained a Russian citizen in Transcarpathia who was trying to illegally cross the border.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service, Censor.NET reports.
The man was stopped just 50 metres from the border with Slovakia. He had bruises on his face, and during the inspection it turned out that he was carrying a Russian passport.
As noted, the 36-year-old Russian had previously been in Prykarpattia, where the migration service decided to return him forcibly. However, he broke the law, stayed in Ukraine and decided to cross the border illegally. The man admitted that he was trying to get to the EU through Zakarpattia, drinking alcohol for "courage." While trying to cross the border, he got lost and, while intoxicated, got into a conflict with local residents. After that, he continued to the border, where he was detained.
The detainee was charged with an administrative offence under Art. 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine". The issue of his forced deportation from the country is currently being decided.
