Border guards detain smuggler with boat and two conscripts in Zakarpattia region - SBGS. VIDEO+PHOTOS
Zakarpattia border guards exposed the organizer of the illegal transportation of persons liable for military service across the border to Hungary.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the State Border Guard Service.
In Zakarpattia, officers of the Diakove Operational and Investigation Department together with servicemen of the Vylok Border Guard Service of the Mukachevo Detachment detained a 52-year-old resident of the region who organised a scheme for smuggling men of military age abroad.
As noted, the smuggler planned to receive USD 5,500 from each client for transportation to Hungary across the Tisza River. The offender was detained red-handed while receiving a partial advance of USD 1,000.
Two citizens who tried to use the services of the dealer were also detained. Administrative reports were drawn up against them for attempting to illegally cross the border.
Law enforcers were informed about the signs of a crime under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transfer of persons across the state border). According to the law, such actions are punishable by up to seven years in prison, especially if they were carried out in a manner that is life-threatening.
