More than 800 weapons and 57 kg of explosives: over 1000 simultaneous searches for illegal arms trafficking conducted throughout Ukraine - National Police. PHOTOS
During a large-scale special operation across Ukraine, police seized more than 800 weapons, 482 grenades, 46,000 rounds of ammunition and more than 57 kg of explosives.
This was reported by the National Police, Censor.NET informs.
Investigators from the National Police, the Criminal Investigation Department, the Strategic Investigations Department, as well as investigators and operatives from all regions of Ukraine took part in the events. In total, more than 1,000 simultaneous searches were conducted.
The results of the operation:
- The law enforcers seized 240 firearms, 94 grenade launchers, 482 grenades and 46,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibres.
- Over 57 kg of explosives were seized.
- They found 22 kg of drugs and 546 kg of amber.
- The funds were confiscated: UAH 166 thousand, over USD 32 thousand and EUR 37 thousand.
Reportedly, 67 people have been suspected under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons). 45 of them have already been detained, and the choice of preventive measures is under consideration.
Another 10 draft notices of suspicion have also been prepared and will be served on the individuals involved in the near future.
It is noted that the special operation was conducted jointly with the Security Service of Ukraine, dog training units, the Border Guard Service and with the support of special police units.
