In Kyiv region, a scheme to avoid mobilisation was exposed and two of its participants were detained.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office, Censor.NET informs.
A 43-year-old resident of Kyiv region used social media to look for men who wanted to avoid mobilisation and go abroad. She offered help in obtaining a disability group or marriage to a bride with a disability.
"In order to find 'clients', the woman created a page on Facebook and published an advert for her services. She promised a man who was interested in the scheme to get an MSEC certificate with a disability group in return for USD 18,500, which the man agreed to.
However, after receiving the money, the woman said that the disability registration procedure was quite lengthy, so she had to be safe and offered to enter into a fictitious marriage with a woman with a disability," the report says.
For the marriage to a 40-year-old resident of Kyiv region, he had to pay another USD 3,800 and give his "wife" UAH 10,000 every month.
After the marriage was concluded using the "Marriage in a Day" service, the "bride" and the organiser of the scheme were detained.
They have been served a notice of suspicion. Other participants in the crime are being identified.
The suspects face imprisonment for up to nine years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property.
