The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and approved for use in the Defence Forces a line of Gimli ground robotic systems (GMS) capable of performing evacuation tasks and transporting ammunition.

Censor.NET reports this with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defence.

It is noted that the Gimli is a versatile unmanned platform designed to perform a wide range of tasks in difficult conditions of high-intensity combat operations.

Features of Gimli

Depending on the configuration and attachments, the robots perform evacuation and movement of personnel, transportation of ammunition and property, and other important support and maintenance tasks.

In addition, the Gimli can be equipped with weapons and act as a mobile combat module, engaging enemy targets with fire.

"Gimli robots are small in size, which makes them easy to transport. They are equipped with a silent electric motor. A full charge of the batteries lasts for several hours of continuous operation. The robots are capable of performing tasks both day and night," the defence ministry added.
