As it turned out, the serviceman was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Odesa and turned to a specialist for advice. In return, the healthcare worker offered to "help" him with his discharge from military service for health reasons for $4500.

The doctor took advantage of the fact that the man had real health problems and legal grounds for demobilisation. She convinced him that this was not enough to be discharged, but for a certain amount of money she could "solve the issue" - agree on an extension of inpatient treatment and influence the decision of the military medical commission.

The woman received part of the amount - $3000 - immediately, and was supposed to pick up the rest after the paperwork was completed. However, she was detained in the office immediately after handing over the money.
