A Russian GRU agent was detained in Zaporizhzhia, who was supposed to manufacture a number of explosive devices for terrorist attacks in the region.
This was reported by the press service of the SSU, Censor.NET informs.
The detainee is a drug addict from Zaporizhzhia who agreed to cooperate with the occupiers in exchange for the promise of "easy money".
"The main task of the offender was to manufacture IEDs and transport them to hidden caches, the so-called 'hiding places'. However, before carrying out this terrorist work, the offender passed a "test mission" of ruscists: he posted anti-Ukrainian leaflets around the city.
In addition, following the instructions of his supervisor, the man used his acquaintances in the dark and checked their suitability for recruitment," the statement said.
The SSU and the National Police documented the man's criminal activity and detained him at his place of residence.
During the searches, the phones he used to communicate with his handler and components for making explosives were seized.
He was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
A pre-trial restraint in the form of detention without bail was imposed on him.
